Peabody takes building permit applications only online, through its OpenGov portal, and the department is explicit that walk-ins are not accepted. The portal names a residential record specifically for roofing, windows and siding, and a door is not named in it or in any other record type the city lists, so we confirm the permit for your door with the Inspectional Services Department before the proposal and file it through OpenGov.

Peabody's two historic districts, Civic Center and Washington Street, are National Register listings rather than a local historic district with its own design-review board; federal law attaches no restriction to that listing by itself, absent federal funding tied to the work.
